Become a Volunteer
Volunteers work Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesday evenings from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Most times you will find at least a dozen people working together. We have volunteers of all ages including some who are past 80 years old. Many have been with us since we began in 1988. Racine Habitat has groups from high schools and colleges who volunteer to help build homes. We also have groups from corporations, churches and civic groups coming together to help in the Habitat mission. Approximately 200 volunteers help out each year. Donate
Financial support is always needed from individuals, local businesses, corporations, churches, private foundations and civic organizations. Donations are tax deductible. Memorial and Honor Gifts
As you plan special remembrances for family and friends this year, consider the gift that keeps on giving -- the gift of affordable, decent housing. Remember or honor a friend, family member, co-worker or loved one by a donation to Racine Habitat. In return, we will send that person or his/her family a letter indicating that you have made such a contribution in their name or their loved one's name. We also accept donations as a rememberance of a special event. Are you Interested in Transferring Stock?
Giving appreciated stock to Racine Habitat is a wonderful way to maximize your generosity, minimize capital gains taxes and help us continue to build houses for people in need of decent housing. | Cars for Homes
Donate your car, boat, truck, or RV to help eliminate poverty housing right in your own community. Call 877-277-4344 or go online to www.carsforhomes.org. Proceeds from donors living in our local area will come directly to the Racine Habitat for Humanity. Two billion people worldwide live in poverty housing, including 5.1 million American families. Cars for HomesTM, Habitat for Humanity’s national vehicle donation program, provides another tool to help break the cycle of poverty by the donation of vehicles to help local Habitat affiliates build homes in partnership with families in need of decent, affordable shelter. |
